Some LEGO projects take over your desk. At a final height of 106 studs, Ascendant by pyrefyre sounds ready to negotiate for the rest of the room. That’s a little over a metre if we’re counting standard stud spacing. My display shelves would like to register a formal objection.

Auckland builder Alvaro Gunawan files this creation under mecha, sci-fi, spaceship, and Shiptember—a tag selection that immediately has my giant-robot-loving attention. Spaceship? Mech? Somewhere in that glorious overlap? The metadata leaves that question open, and I’m not going to invent a cockpit tour.
What’s certain is the ambition of that scale. Tall LEGO builds turn gravity into an unpaid collaborator, and not a particularly cooperative one. Keeping a structure standing while making the height feel purposeful is a challenge worth appreciating.
There are two detail shots available, too. Time to head over to Flickr and give this appropriately named project a closer inspection.
