Some monsters are terrifying because they loom over the table. This one gets you by being tiny, beaky, and way too pleased with itself. buildsandguilds shrinks the Dungeons & Dragons grell down to micro scale for MicroMadnessJune, and the whole thing hangs on one wonderfully nasty parts choice: that beak piece.

At this size, every element has to earn its keep. The beak instantly sells the grell’s weird floating predator vibe, while the compact body reads as the classic brainy menace without needing a pile of greebles. It is the kind of build that makes you look at a single part and suddenly see a monster manual entry staring back.
I also love the baby-grell energy here. Is it dangerous? Absolutely. Would I still keep it in a little display case next to my dice? Also absolutely.
