FTB_1’s The Hillside Plains Climb is the sort of LEGO train scene that makes me want to lean in and listen for the chuffing. The locomotive and rolling stock are doing the heavy lifting, sure, but the real magic is how the whole diorama sells a stretch of British railway with just enough landscape to feel alive.

I’m especially fond of the hillside treatment here. It’s not just a green lump next to some track; the slope gives the train a reason to exist in the scene, turning a static display into a little moment of motion. The coachwork and consist have that proper railfan energy too, clearly built by someone who knows the difference between “a train” and “the right train.”
Even better, this is a rebuilt idea that was once scrapped, then brought back because the vision refused to leave the builder’s brain. Relatable? Absolutely. Brick-built persistence wins again.
