A royal lie-in and an even bigger lie on paper

·

lce2bu’s Medieval-bedroom-2 is the kind of castle scene I love because the drama is not happening on a battlefield. It is happening at a desk, with ink, ambition, and one very nervous prince trying to turn bad decisions into a convincing letter home. Prince Brian is apparently better at creative writing than ruling, and that little character hook gives this build a ton of personality before you even get into the brickwork.

What makes interior medieval scenes so fun is that they live or die on atmosphere, and this one has a great setup. A bedroom should feel private, slightly indulgent, and just a bit suspicious when the treasury is empty and dragons are suddenly appearing in official correspondence. I am a big fan of castle MOCs that lean into storytelling over spectacle, and this sounds like exactly that sort of build. Part 2 of 3 is doing its job too, because now I absolutely want to know whether King Ludwig buys the tale, or shows up in person to ruin everyone’s excuses.
