Byldan_MOCS takes a bite out of the heavens with Bulgae’s Eclipse, a Bio-Cup 2026 Round 1 entry for the theme Magic & Mysticism. The title points to the Bulgae of Korean mythology, the celestial hounds said to chase the sun and moon, causing eclipses when they finally catch their glowing prize. That is already a killer concept for a constraction creature, and Byldan leans right into the mythic weirdness.
What I love here is how naturally the Bionicle language fits the subject. This is not just a wolf with extra armor slapped on; it feels like a magical beast built from old legend and sharp plastic. The shaping has that wonderful Bio-Cup energy where every limb and curve is doing double duty: suggesting anatomy, motion, and a bit of cosmic menace all at once.
The strongest builds in this arena usually find a balance between recognizable creature design and strange, otherworldly flourishes. Byldan hits that sweet spot. The model reads as something that could sprint across the sky, but also as something you would absolutely not want to meet during a lunar event. The detail shots help sell the construction too, giving a closer look at the layered armor and careful part transitions that make the whole beast feel intentional rather than merely spiky.
Byldan, formerly DW_Mocs, describes himself as both a System fan and Bionicle enthusiast, and that combo shows. There is a builder’s confidence here: not over-explaining the myth, not overloading the silhouette, just giving us a clean, dramatic interpretation of a celestial hunter forever seeking the sun and moon. Cheesy eclipse joke incoming: this one totally blocks out the competition.
