Some LEGO models are never truly finished; they’re just waiting for their next trip to the works. Sethbricked’s LNER class B1 is back on the bench, with the builder revisiting one of their earliest locomotives. The mission? More detail, a more accurate scale, and another crack at getting this British steam engine just right.

That’s a rebuild philosophy I can get behind. With a steam locomotive, proportions do a lot of heavy lifting: boiler diameter, cab height, and wheel spacing all have to agree before the smaller details can really sing. Adding bits is one thing. Making room for the right bits is the good stuff.
This is explicitly a work in progress, so I’m treating it as a workshop invitation rather than a finished-model victory lap. Sethbricked mainly builds British steam engines, and that ongoing urge to revisit an old favourite feels wonderfully familiar. The parts go back in the bins; the ambition gets a little bigger. All aboard for round two.
