Back to the Brick, Reporting for 1970s Duty

·

Five years away from the brick pile, and Johan Alexanderson (Jalex) clocks back in with an office. Not a spaceship, not a castle: a slice of late-1970s Swedish working life. That’s a wonderfully specific way to hand in your LEGO comeback paperwork.

Back to the Brick, Reporting for 1970s Duty

Office in the 70s takes its inspiration from old Swedish photographs and films depicting office environments of the period. I love that starting point. Historical reference doesn’t have to mean battlements and battleships; everyday workplaces deserve their little plastic time capsules, too. Somewhere between the family photo album and the architectural archive lies a whole world of MOC possibilities.

Jalex is a Swedish web developer, illustrator, and comic book artist as well as a LEGO builder. After more than five years away, finding both the time and inspiration to build again is worth celebrating all by itself. Welcome back to the studded side, Johan. Consider your brick-building timesheet approved.
