Before the N-1, Naboo still had style

N-11 Ordo’s Naboo NB Starfighter dives into one of those delicious Star Wars side-lore corners where the galaxy suddenly feels bigger than the ships everyone already knows. The N-1 gets the spotlight because Anakin accidentally turns it into a Trade Federation problem-solver, but this NB predecessor sounds like the kind of vessel that makes Naboo design culture so fun: elegant, hand-crafted, and still perfectly capable of getting into trouble.

What I like most here is the framing. This is not just “another Naboo starfighter.” It is positioned as part of the Royal Naboo Security Force before the famous N-1 took center stage, built by the Theed Palace Space Vessel Engineering Corps with Nubian 218 twin radial sublight engines and twin blaster cannons. That gives the model a real sense of continuity. You can imagine the same polished engineering philosophy evolving from one craft to the next, with the NB carrying earlier ideas that would eventually sharpen into the iconic yellow dart we all recognize.

Naboo ships are tricky LEGO subjects because their design language is so smooth and refined. They need to feel graceful without becoming bland, decorative without losing function, and high-status without looking fragile. That is a tough balance in bricks, where every curve is negotiated one plate at a time. A lesser build could easily become a generic Star Wars craft with a Naboo label slapped on it, but Ordo’s long-running interest in detailed fan models makes this a promising subject.

I also appreciate the astromech-assisted setup. It grounds the NB in the same practical starfighter ecosystem as the N-1 while still letting it have its own identity. That is the fun of expanded-universe-style shipbuilding: not rewriting the famous thing, but building the plausible machinery around it. This feels like exactly that kind of model, a sleek prequel-era “what flew before?” answer with enough lore to make the hangar feel more complete.
