Marco De Bon, better known on Flickr as guitar hero78, gives us a mech with the sort of shelf presence that makes other robots quietly shuffle backward. Lego moc “Benares” is chunky, armed, and absolutely convinced it has right of way. The olive armor does a lot of heavy lifting here, especially because it is broken up with gray mechanical bits and those hot orange highlights that feel like warning labels made physical.

What I like most is how the build avoids becoming one big brick-shaped bruiser. The shoulders are broad, but they are layered with curved slopes, vents, round elements, and exposed connection points, so the mass feels engineered instead of just stacked. That little head tucked between the shoulder housings gives the whole thing a great hunched silhouette, like a pilotable construction machine that got tired of being polite.
The weapon arm is a nice contrast to the armor plating. It is mostly gray, with a tapered barrel and enough greebling to read as mechanical without turning into random detail soup. On the opposite side, the orange hand and angled armor pieces give the mech a visual counterweight. That asymmetry is doing real work, making Benares feel posed and ready rather than merely standing there for the camera.
The legs might be my favorite bit. The dark thighs, olive shin armor, orange knee and ankle accents, and wide stompy feet all stack into a very readable robot anatomy. You can tell where the weight is meant to go, and the feet have that lovely LEGO mech trick of looking both functional and slightly overbuilt. Which, honestly, is the whole point. If your robot cannot crush a parking meter by accident, why even build one?
