Three years between building a MOC and posting it? That’s not procrastination; that’s letting the bricks mature. Toltomeja’s Wangxian Valley was built in 2023, and I’m glad it finally escaped the unpublished pile.

The Krakow-based builder took inspiration from the cliffside village of the same name in China, translating that setting into microscale LEGO. Crucially, this isn’t intended as an exact replica. Toltomeja wanted to preserve the spirit of the place—a much more interesting brief than counting every window and calling it homework.
That’s the appeal of microscale for me: deciding what matters enough to keep when a whole building has to shrink to a handful of visual cues. A cliffside village is a particularly tempting subject for that challenge, with architecture and landscape sharing the spotlight.
Consider this your permission slip to post that older MOC. The internet can wait; good brick inspiration doesn’t expire.
