Cart Blanche for tiny battles

Mantis.King’s Battlecarts hit that lovely sweet spot where a build looks simple at first glance, then starts handing you little rewards the longer you stare at it. Two yellow sci-fi carts, four chunky tires each, a splash of team color, and suddenly there is a whole tabletop skirmish forming in your head.

The big move here is shape control. Those curved yellow slopes do a lot of work, giving each cart a chunky armored snout without needing many parts. At this scale, one overcomplicated detail can wreck the read, so the clean yellow shell is smart: it makes the vehicles feel related, almost factory-built, while the green and orange tiles split them into opposing units. That is exactly the kind of clarity you want for a gaming build. You should be able to glance across the table and know who is who before the dice start causing emotional damage.

I also love how the tires make these things feel bigger than they are. The black wheels dominate the silhouette, pushing the carts into that wonderful LEGO zone between go-kart, drone buggy, and tiny armored personnel menace. The exposed dark bits underneath keep them from becoming too toy-clean; there is just enough mechanical shadow to suggest suspension, steering, or some highly questionable futuristic drivetrain.

Raymond mentions this version was inspired by an older SSC design and that he wanted to clean up some color issues. Mission accomplished. The limited palette makes the pair feel more intentional, and the mirrored build invites the dangerous thought every LEGO fan knows too well: surely it would be harmless to build just a few more.
