Clear Winner, Chicken Dinner

·

BigBrickStan took Rogue Olympics Week 8’s “Transparent” prompt and decided subtlety was for opaque people. This thing is all glassy menace: a lanky, see-through creature with glowing red eyes, razor-edged limbs, and a suspiciously well-earned chicken dinner clutched right where the belly should be.

Clear Winner, Chicken Dinner

The fun here is how much personality comes from pieces that are usually treated like effects parts. Clear spikes, blades, and angular crystal bits don’t just decorate the model; they define the silhouette. The shoulders flare outward like frozen armor, the head has that wonderfully jagged “do not pet” energy, and the long legs feel part insect, part x-ray anatomy chart. It’s creepy in the best way.

I especially like the red and blue tubing threaded through the mostly transparent body. Against all that clear plastic, those little streaks of color read like veins, wires, or maybe the digestive system of a creature that has made some very questionable poultry choices. The translucent pink running up the neck adds another weird organic note, while the tiny red eyes lock the whole face into a proper character rather than just a pile of sparkly parts.

And then there’s the base. Using clear crinkled plastic as the ground is a cheeky move for a “transparent” build, but it also works visually. It gives the model a slick, freezer-burned stage without competing with the LEGO construction, almost like this monster has stepped out of a cellophane swamp.

The title does a lot of work, too. “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!” makes the model instantly funnier, because this crystalline nightmare is not posing for glory. It came to snack. Let me be clear: that’s a pretty excellent punchline in brick form.
