Mantis.King brings a splash of suspiciously cheerful color to the tabletop with Field of Flowers?, a compact bit of Mobile Frame Zero: Rapid Attack terrain where an LZ Pod Soldier ducks behind a row of DSF plants. It is microscale sci-fi cover, which means those cute little blooms are not just pretty — they are tactical.
The fun here is how much character gets squeezed into a tiny footprint. The plants read immediately as alien flora, with a chunky, game-piece sturdiness that makes sense for wargaming terrain. They are decorative, readable from arm’s length, and apparently durable enough to take 1 Hit before being destroyed. That is exactly the kind of practical LEGO design I love: nice on camera, useful on the table.
Mantis.King has long been a reliable source for clever Mobile Frame Zero builds, and this little scene shows why. The LZ Pod Soldier gives the terrain instant scale, while the flower row breaks up the battlefield without becoming a big visual wall. It is cover, but it still feels like part of a living sci-fi environment. I also appreciate that the design looks easy to reproduce in numbers — the true test of good wargaming scenery. One weird plant is a novelty. A whole battlefield of them? Now we are cooking with plasma.
