CareCreations turns a simple transaction into the sort of deal your mother, your lawyer, and probably Gandalf would all tell you to avoid. A cloaked Bagatto extends a bouquet-like offering while coins spill across the ground, a red mask lies abandoned, and its former owner slumps nearby. Whatever was promised, the fine print definitely included a soul.

The immediate showstopper is that enormous floating mass overhead. Repeated dark-bluish-gray Bionicle shells and armor elements overlap into a wonderfully grotesque balloon, with each piece suggesting another blank face trapped inside. Instead of hiding the duplicated parts, CareCreations makes repetition the whole point. The irregular angles keep the shape organic, while small gaps expose a dark core and one toxic-green detail stares out like an eye. It is equal parts storm cloud, creature, and spiritual storage locker.
Down below, slender mint-green Technic limbs give the dealer a spindly, insect-like silhouette. The fabric cloak does a huge amount of visual work, swallowing the torso in darkness so those red eyes hit like warning lights. Even the tiny gray offering echoes the construction of the balloon above. Then there is the victim: a skeletal red body, discarded mask, and overturned white sack of gold. CareCreations tells the entire story through placement, color, and body language without needing a single speech bubble.
Inspired by Odilon Redon’s Le Marchand de ballons and built for BioCup 2026 Round One, Misfortune is a terrific example of constraction parts behaving like sculpture rather than action-figure anatomy. The limited palette, dusty backdrop, long balloon strings, and tiny cast shadow make the scene feel like a surreal painting that escaped its frame, mugged a Bionicle collection, and came back carrying receipts.
