Sparks ️ has been building Bionicle since 2010, and Metal Commander has that wonderfully seasoned constraction confidence: long limbs, compact armor, and just enough color to make the whole machine feel awake.
The first thing that grabs me is the silhouette. Those squared-off shoulder chunks give the Commander a big boss-fight stance, while the narrow waist and spindly lower legs keep it from turning into a brick-built refrigerator. It is lanky in the best robot way, like it could unfold another two feet if you hit the wrong button.
I love the little red highlights, too. One in the head and one buried in the torso, almost like a glowing sensor and reactor core. Against all that dark blue and gunmetal, they do a ton of work. The feet are especially fun, with tread-like texture on one side and smoother shaping on the other, giving the model a scrappy, field-repaired personality.
It is compact, moody, and full of crunchy mechanical texture. Commander status: earned.
