Kinder Egg toys had a very specific kind of 90s magic: tiny plastic treasures that felt impossibly charming for something that came packed beside chocolate. CeciΙie taps straight into that sugar-rush nostalgia with Happy Hippos, a LEGO homage to the collectible Kinder characters she loved most as a kid.

What makes this build sing is how confidently it understands the source material. Happy Hippos were always a little goofy, a little fashionable, and entirely too pleased with themselves, and these two brick-built characters seem to have wandered right out of a foil wrapper and onto the shelf. The scale is small enough to keep that toy-like sweetness, but big enough for personality to come through in the faces, poses, and bright character styling.
It is also a smart fit for BrickNerd’s Adorabuild contest, because the appeal here is not just “cute animal.” It is cute animal filtered through a very particular childhood memory. That specificity gives the build its charm. Anyone can build a hippo, but building the exact feeling of a favorite little Kinder Egg prize? That is the good stuff.
