Home Is Where the Kanohi Is

“Gathered friends, listen again to the legend…” Well, that’s one way to get every BIONICLE fan in the room to stop sorting parts. Pohaturon’s contribution to the LEGO House Masterpiece Gallery brings that familiar storytelling invitation to an exhibition themed around “coming home for the holidays.” Someone pass the nostalgia; I’m having seconds.

Home Is Where the Kanohi Is

This gallery round has a neat twist: the exhibitors are all “internal,” rather than the usual selection from the wider fan community. Pohaturon is a LEGO Group model designer, a former New Elementary contributor, and an unabashed BIONICLE enthusiast. That last credential feels particularly relevant here.

For me, the pairing is the hook. A holiday homecoming doesn’t have to mean stockings and a fireplace. Sometimes it means returning to a fictional world that occupied an unreasonable amount of your childhood brain—and, let’s be honest, still has a room reserved upstairs. Bringing BIONICLE into that conversation? That hits right in the heartlight.
