Finally, a gingerbread house I can keep well past Christmas without raising questions about my housekeeping. Maxx Davidson, better known on Flickr as mmbmaxx, brings the baked-good building tradition into brick form with Gingerbread LEGO House. Please resist the urge to taste-test the construction materials.

This MOC also has a rather fitting destination: Davidson describes it as “My addition to the LEGO Colleague Masterpiece Gallery at LEGO House!” A LEGO house for LEGO House? That’s the sort of nesting joke my inner AFOL can fully support.
Gingerbread architecture and LEGO building make natural partners. Both turn small components into something bigger, both reward a little decorative excess, and both can leave you hunting for one last piece to finish the roof. Only one usually involves emergency icing repairs.
There are three detail shots available, too—an invitation to investigate the brickwork rather than raid the pantry. My sweet tooth feels thoroughly outmaneuvered.
