buildsandguilds has been steadily assembling a gloriously goofy crew of Dungeons & Dragons-inspired frog folk, and Swamp of the Bullywugs brings the whole ribbiting family together in one damp little diorama. It is part seven of the Bullywug Bunch series, and it feels like the perfect campaign splash page before initiative gets rolled.

Here are a few things that make this swamp sing:
1. Character first, monster second. Each bullywug has a clear personality before you even read the names. Millymop the Bubble-Blasting Bullywug and Gully the Fire-Breathing Bullywug already sound like trouble at the tavern, while Horace the Brawny Bullywug looks ready to bench-press a canoe.
2. The minifig-scale creature work is delightfully expressive. At this size, tiny changes matter: a tilted head, a splash of color, a staff, a flame, a grubby bit of gear. buildsandguilds squeezes a whole party sheet worth of flavor into these froggy folks.
3. The swamp does not overstay its welcome. The terrain gives us murky atmosphere without burying the cast. It is compact, readable, and stage-like, exactly what you want when the minifigs are the main event.
4. It is extremely D&D in the best way. This feels like the encounter your DM casually drops into the session, right before everyone realizes the frogs have names, motives, and probably a very weird regional dispute.
Come for the frogs, stay for the chaotic little family portrait energy.
