The banners are up, the lances are lowered, and the annual castle-brick brain itch is officially back. -soccerkid6 has fired the starting cannon for Summer Joust 2026, which means builders everywhere now have an excuse to dig through bins for shields, masonry bricks, foliage, and every slightly suspicious reddish brown part they still trust.
This is less a single MOC spotlight and more a call to arms, but that is part of the fun. The poster and model design, credited to Jonah Schultz, does exactly what a good contest announcement should: it makes you want to build something medieval immediately. Summer Joust has always been one of those community events where clever techniques, tiny story beats, and castle nostalgia collide in the best possible way.
Rules and categories are waiting in the Flickr group, Discord server, and Brickcontests page. Time to sharpen your cheese slopes.
