Devid VII is back in the mech bay with ZYLUS & XYBER, a black-and-lime bruiser combo that looks like it just stomped out of a cyberpunk hangar with a mission brief and absolutely no patience for negotiations. The pairing of the larger mech with its smaller drone/trooper companion gives this build a great buddy-cop energy, assuming both buddies solve crimes with shoulder cannons.

The color blocking is the first thing that grabs you by the visor. Black and dark bluish gray form the mechanical skeleton, while the lime highlights slice through the silhouette like radioactive circuit traces. It is a classic Devid VII move: sharp contrast, compact shaping, and just enough color to make the whole machine feel fast even while standing still.
What I really appreciate here is how much personality is packed into the frame. The main mech has that squat, armored stance that says “heavy support unit,” but the shaping keeps it from becoming a box with legs. Angled panels, layered armor, and exposed mechanical bits all work together to sell the idea that this thing could actually move. The smaller companion, meanwhile, echoes the same visual language without feeling like a mini-me copy. That is harder than it sounds! Matching a design family across scales is one of those quiet LEGO skills that separates a cool robot from a believable squad.
There are two detail shots available, and this is exactly the kind of build that rewards zooming in. Devid’s mechs often hide clever bracket work, clip connections, and sideways building under all that armor, and ZYLUS & XYBER looks packed with that good crunchy greeble texture. The lime accents are used like punctuation marks rather than paint spills, guiding your eye across the torso, limbs, and head.
It is slick, mean, and very toyetic in the best possible way. I would absolutely buy the Saturday morning cartoon where these two drop from orbit, land in a crater, and immediately ruin some villain’s whole afternoon.
