Baron Julius von Brunk knows exactly how to turn a Pokémon move into a LEGO moment. Meowth Used Pay Day! takes one of the most wonderfully silly bits of classic Pokémon iconography, Meowth flinging coins like a tiny feline ATM, and frames it as a vignette for the official LEGO Ideas Pokémon card design challenge. That is a strong premise right out of the grass.
What makes this work so well is how instantly readable the scene sounds. Meowth emerging from tall grass with coins flying is pure trading-card energy: one character, one action, one clear little burst of personality. Pay Day is not the flashiest move in the Pokédex, but it is one of the most characterful, and Meowth is basically built for that mix of mischief, greed, and weird cuteness.
I also like that this comes from a builder with such a long history of LEGO pop-culture work. Julius von Brunk has always had a knack for translating video game and Nintendo-adjacent nostalgia into brick form without sanding off the joke. This feels like that same playful instinct in a compact format: bright, punchy, and easy to understand at a glance.
