Sam Andreas usually lives in the land of tiny cars, where a single bracket can make or break a fender line. So naturally, his first boat MOC shows up looking like it already has a chapter title, a chase scene, and at least one terrible surprise hiding behind the deck clutter.

Adventurers ’49 – On to a new journey is billed as a small interlude between full seasons, and that is exactly the charm. The crew is not storming a temple or outrunning a cursed idol here. They are traveling by small fishing boat, which somehow makes the danger feel even better. You can almost hear the jaunty adventure music pause when Lord Bafford gets a little too close for comfort. Danger close, as Sam puts it, “at a mop’s length.” That is the kind of villain proximity measurement I can get behind.
What I like most is the change of pace. Boat hulls are a very different puzzle from cars: shape, weight, deck space, and storytelling all have to share a tiny footprint. Sam leans into that limitation, giving the build the feel of a packed little adventure vessel rather than a static display piece. It is a neat reminder that a good LEGO scene does not need to be huge. It just needs the right moment.
