No Louse Ends Here

Lord-Oblivion’s Louse – Plague Mech: Holoparasite is the kind of Bionicle build that makes me instinctively scoot my chair back from the screen. It’s spindly, nasty, and wonderfully mechanical — a little parasitic nightmare dressed up in black armor and bad intentions. The Flickr description simply says, “You won’t feel a thing…..” which is exactly the sort of reassurance that makes me trust it even less.

No Louse Ends Here

What really works here is the silhouette. This doesn’t read like a generic robot with bug bits tacked on; it feels engineered around the idea of a crawling parasite. The limbs have that sharp, segmented quality that Bionicle and Technic parts do so well, with enough negative space to keep the whole thing feeling quick and skittery rather than bulky. Black-on-black builds can easily turn into visual soup, but Lord-Oblivion keeps the shapes distinct through texture: smooth armor shells, exposed mechanical joints, and those delicious little points and protrusions that suggest mandibles, legs, and medical equipment all at once. Gross! Compliment.

I’m also a sucker for MOCs that lean into creature design without abandoning the “mech” side of things. The best Bionicle creations often live in that weird middle zone between biology and machinery, and this one has set up camp there with a tiny plague flag. It has enough character to be a monster, enough structure to be a machine, and enough menace to make me wonder what unfortunate pilot, host, or victim is involved in the “Holoparasite” part of the name.

This piece is part of the broader Resurgence lineup, with other insect-inspired builds like Rhino Beetle, Bumblebee, Weevil, and Orbweaver. If this is the louse, I’m suddenly very concerned about the rest of the ecosystem.
