There’s a special kind of LEGO magic in taking a little household heartbreak and turning it into a tiny plastic triumph. Stefan Eeckman, better known around the brick-built seas as sebeus, does exactly that with A broken vase, a MOC that starts with disaster and ends with a grin.

The setup is wonderfully simple: mother’s magnificent vase has met the floor, and its former glory is now a scatter of ceramic shards. But rather than sweep up the tragedy and move on, sebeus gives the remains a second life as a home for LEGO greenery. It’s pottery poetry indeed.
I love how the build leans into the jagged, irregular look of broken ceramic instead of trying to make everything too clean. The vase feels genuinely fractured, while the plants sprouting from it bring just the right amount of “well, that worked out!” energy. It’s a compact little idea, but packed with charm, story, and that very satisfying AFOL instinct to see useful shapes in absolutely everything.
