Silver, Bricks, and Zero Chill

·

Nine studs wide and absolutely not here to blend in. mocbyendo’s Kaido Racer X7 Cresssida pays tribute to Reid’s (@rudeboyspecials) silver Silhouette Kaido Racer, a real-world machine the builder discovered through Checkpoint Japan. Apparently, one look was enough to turn admiration into a parts hunt. Relatable? Dangerously.

Silver, Bricks, and Zero Chill

The brief was all about translating the original car’s raw aggression into bricks. Choosing a nine-wide footprint gives that mission an interesting starting point: extra room to chase proportions without sticking to the familiar eight-wide lane. Odd-width car builders, I salute your commitment to making everything just a little more complicated.

Then comes the purist alarm: the builder openly used silver Vallejo primer paint in pursuit of the right finish. That’s a boundary some fans won’t cross, but there’s no pretending otherwise here. For this tribute, matching the inspiration took priority over keeping every element factory-fresh. I appreciate the honesty—and the willingness to pick a lane and floor it.
