Rubblemaker is kicking off a whole fleet of chibi-scale Classic Space ships, and Anomalous Waveform is exactly the kind of ridiculous little space oddity I want leading the squadron.

Chibi spaceships live or die on compression: you need just enough shape to sell the silhouette, just enough greebling to feel mechanical, and enough attitude that the thing looks bigger in your head than it is on the table. That is the sweet spot here. The name does half the launch sequence by itself, too. Of course it does anomalous things. In space. Where else would a tiny Classic Space troublemaker get up to weird signal business?
I also love that this is the first of a planned six-ship fleet. Small scale is perfect for that kind of theme-building, where each ship can have its own goofy epic name and personality without needing a hangar-sized parts budget.
