Spring has apparently arrived wearing a cape, carrying a spear, and asking why the ice cream truck does not serve mulled wine. captain_j03’s The Joy of Spring drops a wonderfully odd little cast in front of a 7-wide Citroën HY snack van, and the joke lands before you even notice how much work is packed into that gray box.
The van is the treat here: those stacked dark bluish gray panels make a terrific corrugated serving hatch, while the rounded white roof and sloped nose sell the unmistakable HY silhouette without getting fussy. I also love the tiny menu-board chaos around the counter, with pink scoops, round printed bits, and dangling signs making the whole thing feel like a mobile sugar ambush.
Bigfoot staring down the desserts while the Vikings queue up is exactly the kind of toy-photo absurdity that keeps Martin Spunkt’s daily project feeling fresh. Spring may be here, but I am with the caption: one hot drink would not hurt.
