The Clone Wars Goes Full GBC

·

There’s a lot going on in Les Foutch’s Clone Wars GBC, and that’s exactly why it works. At first glance you get the big convention-table spectacle: a long, sprawling display, a bold “THE CLONE WARS” sign at the front, and a whole lineup of scenes stretched across the layout. Then your eye starts following the orange balls, and the whole thing clicks into place.

This isn’t just a Star Wars diorama. It’s a Great Ball Contraption build that turns key moments from The Clone Wars into a kinetic display piece. Even in a single photo, the mechanical rhythm is visible in the channels, ramps, and collection zones built into the scene. The industrial gray structures give the layout a proper sci-fi backbone, while the bursts of color—especially the pink foliage and the bright orange balls—keep the build from becoming a wall of greebled gray.

Les Foutch, an AFOL from Quebec with 288 photos on Flickr, says she loves humoristic vignettes and Star Wars scenes, often collaborating with her husband Mister Foutch. That collaborative energy really shows here. This MOC has the footprint of a display piece, but it also has the storytelling instinct of fans who clearly know the show and wanted each section to feel like a little tribute.

I’m a sucker for LEGO builds that merge fandom with motion, and this one absolutely nails that sweet spot. It’s clever, readable from across the room, and packed with enough moving-parts promise to make any GBC fan stop and stare.
