The Piranha with a Power-Tool Smile

·

Some submarines explore the deep. This one looks like it waits behind a coral outcrop and charges rent in teeth marks. jacekbricks’ Plundering Piranha is a gloriously mean little Aquaraiders machine, and it understands the assignment: Aquazone villains should feel like Saturday-morning cartoon bad guys who somehow got access to industrial equipment.

The whole build seems to swim out from those neon-yellow buzzsaws, which is exactly the kind of seed part choice I love. They are not just slapped on as weapons; they set the attitude. That acidic color instantly says danger, treasure, and 90s underwater nonsense in the best possible way. Around them, the sub builds up a piranha personality with angry eyes, spikes, and a toothy front end that feels more creature than vehicle.

What makes it click is the balance between camp and control. Aquaraiders styling can easily become a pile of fins and pointy bits, but jacekbricks keeps the silhouette compact and readable. The front has that bite-first aggression, while the body still feels like something a minifig villain could actually pilot through murky ruins. The trans-neon energy also does a lot of heavy lifting, tying the weapons into that classic Aquazone visual language where every glowing element feels mildly radioactive and extremely collectible.

I also appreciate how well this fits the builder’s usual wheelhouse. jacekbricks has a clear affection for bold system-era sci-fi, translucent parts, and just enough whimsy to keep the hardware from going too serious. Here, that sensibility gets dunked in villainous seawater. It is sharp, silly, swooshable, and just menacing enough that I would absolutely not trust it near an undersea crystal mining operation.

Aquajune is always a good excuse to get weird below the waves, and this vicious little sub brings the bite.
