The first-generation Ford Bronco has become serious collector bait, but lego911’s 289 Custom reminds us why people fell for the thing in the first place. It is compact, adventurous, and just boxy enough to look ready for a weekend involving muddy boots and questionable trail decisions.

Australian builder Peter Blackert recreates the classic 1965 off-roader as a clean digital model, capturing the Bronco’s wonderfully straightforward personality. The upright body, short proportions, and removable-roof attitude belong to an era before SUVs became rolling living rooms with seventeen cupholders.
The “289 Custom” name adds a little V8 swagger, while the Miniland-scale approach gives the model room to sell those distinctive early-Bronco proportions. It is a lovely reminder that good automotive LEGO building is not about cramming in every curve—it is about choosing the few shapes that make a vehicle instantly recognizable.
And if this brick-built bucking bronco belongs in your stable, instructions are available from the builder.
