Eero Okkonen’s Bonfire Party Dress is serving summer heat without melting a single brick. Built for the LEGO Ideas/LEGO House Dress to Impress contest, this elegant character sculpture turns a roaring campfire into high fashion. The orange skirt flickers around the figure’s legs, while the swept-back train makes the whole outfit look caught in a warm evening breeze.

The secret ingredient is a small forest of orange and reddish-orange axe heads from the Botanical Collection. Eero threads them along 3.18mm rigid hoses, allowing each strand to bend independently. Layered together, those repeating curved blades become something between knitted fabric, feathers, and licking flames. It is wonderfully loose and organic—the sort of technique that makes you immediately start rummaging through your own parts drawers.
The bodice takes a calmer approach, giving all that fiery texture room to breathe. Mudguard pieces form the shoulder straps, their broad curves neatly bridging the blockier torso and rounded shoulders. Meanwhile, the elaborate golden hair is practically a sculpture by itself: loops, curls, and scrolling elements pile up into a windswept mane worthy of a brick-built Botticelli.
Then Eero cools everything down with pale blue accessories. The handbag uses a classic chain for its strap and a cloth element from 2013’s Winter Village Carousel as the flap—a clever bit of tailoring that genuinely reads as soft material. Matching blue-and-pink platform shoes add one final blast of party energy, while opalescent details tie the jewelry, bag, and footwear together.
This could easily have become a one-joke build—orange pieces equal fire—but Eero pushes the idea into a complete fashion design. The colors, textures, pose, and accessories all tell the same story. She has arrived at the bonfire, and frankly, everyone else may as well go home and change.
