This TIE is really on track

·

Karf Oohlu Lite’s Tie Fighter Launch Rail takes one of those perfectly unnecessary sci-fi questions — do TIE fighters need launch rails? — and answers it with a confident little “mine does.” That is exactly the kind of logic I want from microscale space LEGO.

This TIE is really on track

The fun is in the reuse. Karf says the whole thing grew from the roadway in a previous Road Train upload, and you can feel that sideways thinking: what was once infrastructure becomes Imperial-ish hardware with only a change of context. A long strip suddenly reads as a launch track, a tiny fighter becomes the punctuation mark, and the surrounding geometry does the rest of the worldbuilding.

Microscale lives or dies on whether your eye fills in the blanks. Here, the blank space is doing hangar-bay duty. It is economical, nerdy, and just plausible enough that I am now mildly annoyed the movies never showed one.
