Eero Okkonen has a knack for turning LEGO parts into people who feel like they might start breathing the moment you look away, and Moirai is right in that wheelhouse. Built for the final round of Bio-Cup 2026 under the theme “Fate and Fortune,” this trio brings the three Fates of Greek mythology to the table: Atropos, Clotho, and Lachesis, ready to spin, measure, and snip the thread of your tiny mortal existence. No pressure.

What I love here is how Eero gives each figure a clear job without over-explaining anything. Clotho’s spindle immediately reads as the source of the thread of life, Lachesis has that wonderfully deliberate measuring pose, and Atropos has the ominous finality you want from someone holding the cosmic scissors. The composition feels theatrical, like a mythological stage scene frozen between one heartbeat and the next.
As always with Eero’s character work, the cleverness is in the shaping. Cloth, hair, sleeves, and posture all come through with carefully layered elements rather than simple blocky mass. There’s a great balance between System smoothness and constraction-style anatomy, giving the figures that unmistakable sculptural quality Eero does so well. The dark, restrained palette also keeps the focus on silhouette and gesture, which is exactly where a build about destiny should live.
It’s also a delightfully nerdy subject for LEGO treatment. The Moirai aren’t just “three spooky ladies”; they’re a whole operating system for mortality, and Eero captures that with character-specific props and body language. Mythology builds can sometimes lean too hard on labels, but this one works even before you know the names. Once you do, it gets even better.
Fate may be unavoidable, but at least in this case it comes with excellent part usage.
