Three Builders, Three Panels, One Very Green Triptych

·

The Irish flag has never looked this brick-built. This St. Patrick’s Day triptych — created as a collaborative entry for the “Équipage à l’Abordage” 3vs3 contest on BrickPirate.net — splits Ireland’s tricolor into three minifig-scale vignettes, each built by a different creator and capped at a tight 10×10×12 footprint.

Three-panel LEGO triptych depicting Irish flag colors with a Gringotts-inspired bank, a shamrock mural, and a cozy pub interior

The green panel channels full Gringotts energy — or rather, “Grincotts,” complete with dragon head wall mounts, printed money tiles scattered across the floor, and a pot of gold tucked behind barrels. The battlemented roofline adds a Gothic flair that sells the whole leprechaun-bank concept. It’s a cheeky Harry Potter nod that works perfectly in this context.

The center white panel keeps things elegant. A large shamrock dominates the scene, constructed using clean SNOT work that keeps the leaf shapes smooth and organic against the stone-textured wall. A lone minifig perched on a wooden ladder, paintbrush in hand, gives the whole thing a charming “caught in the act” narrative. The arched doorway framing the scene is a nice bit of architectural discipline in a very small space.

Then there’s the orange panel — a proper Irish pub. Shelves lined with bottles, a guitar propped against the wall, a working bar counter, and enough warm atmosphere to make you want to pull up a stool. The clock, portrait, and torch details pack a surprising amount of storytelling into a handful of studs.

What makes this triptych work isn’t just the individual builds — it’s the discipline. Three builders (Konix, Seb71, and Guilego), three palettes, one cohesive flag. The constraint of 10×10×12 per panel forced creative efficiency, and the result reads as a single unified scene rather than three separate builds jammed together.
