-Disty- has absolutely nailed the most important battlebot design principle here, which is that a machine can be tiny and still look like it is itching to ruin someone else’s day. Ickle Thump, or maybe Lil’ Thump, or Thumper Jr., or whichever excellent name finally sticks, has the kind of compact menace I cannot help loving. A remote-control mini version of a bigger LEGO battlebot is already a great idea. Making it cute and dangerous is even better.

What makes this especially fun is the Circuit Cubes angle. Small-scale RC builds always feel a bit magical when they work well, because you are cramming motion, control, and personality into a package that still has to read clearly as a machine. And battlebots are all about silhouette and intent. You want to know, at a glance, how this thing plans to cause trouble. Ickle Thump sounds like it does exactly that. Also, any builder rolling into a show with multiple robot reveals in the lead-up is clearly having a very good week, and I respect the energy.
