ThatGuyNateLego is back in the hangar with an F-14 Tomcat MOC, and yes, I can hear the guitar riff already. The Tomcat is one of those aircraft that looks simple until you actually try to build it: twin tails, big intakes, long nose, chunky shoulders, and those famous variable-sweep wings all fighting for attention in a very particular silhouette.

What I like here is how Nate leans into the aircraft’s broad, aggressive stance rather than over-smoothing it into generic jet territory. The F-14 has a kind of purposeful awkwardness to it — all angles, panels, and naval muscle — and that comes through nicely in LEGO form. The shaping around the cockpit and fuselage is especially important on a Tomcat, since the whole front half needs to feel lean while the rear half looks ready to inhale an entire runway.
This is also the sort of build where the little choices matter: the taper into the nose, the spacing of the twin fins, the relationship between the engine nacelles and the wings. Get one of those off and suddenly you’re in “legally distinct grey jet” land. Nate keeps the identity locked in, which is no small feat at this scale.
There are detail shots available too, and if Nate’s Rebrickable plans are anything to go by, this one may be aimed at builders who want more than just a pretty shelf model. I’m always happy to see a builder return to MOC development with something this swooshable. Danger zone? More like display zone. Sorry. I had to.
