Twelve Mustangs and Counting

·

Some builders nail a MOC and move on. Peter Blackert — better known as lego911 on Flickr — has been refining his S550 Mustang for twelve iterations. That’s not obsession, that’s craftsmanship.

Based in Australia with over 30,000 LEGO car renders on his Flickr page, lego911 is one of the most prolific miniland-scale automotive builders in the community. His specialty? Digitally designed vehicles in LDD that capture the exact proportions and character of their real-world counterparts. And he actually owns a Grabber Lime Mustang GT, so the man knows his pony cars.

This GT500 build nails the aggressive stance of Ford’s 760-horsepower monster. Pop the hood and you’ll find a detailed supercharged 5.2-liter Predator V8 rendered in gray mechanical elements — intake, cylinders, the works. The open door reveals a tidy cockpit with dashboard and steering column, while the rear features stacked plate work for that signature ducktail spoiler and quad exhaust tips built from cylinder pieces.

The color blocking is sharp too — that deep blue against the black accents and dark gray multi-spoke wheels gives it a showroom-ready presence. Instructions are available if you want to build your own.
