Vespa? Where We’re Going, We Don’t Need Roads

·

Somewhere in a neon-lit future, somebody is absolutely parking this thing outside a café and ordering an espresso. Sérgio Batista’s V35P4 takes the classic Vespa scooter silhouette off the pavement and into cyberpunk airspace. Coral bodywork, a compact rear turbine, and scooter-sized ambition? That’s my kind of airborne commute.

The premise has a lovely bit of restraint: keep the Vespa identity, then push it forward rather than replace it with a generic sci-fi speeder. A familiar silhouette gives the futuristic concept something to play against. It’s retro without being stuck in traffic.

My favorite part of the story is the parts shortage. Sérgio built with the limited coral selection he had on hand, making that inventory constraint part of the design challenge. That’s a wonderfully LEGO way to approach a hover bike: the future can wait while you work out what’s actually in the drawer. I’d happily take this one for a spin. Helmet first, questionable rooftop parking second.
