A plant piece walks into a hunting build. That’s not the setup for a terrible AFOL joke—it’s Miscellanabuilds’ opening move in an Iron Builder round against Ben Grayson. The creation is called Hunting Season, and the compulsory ingredient is the Plant Vine 10L with Spikes, in Flat Silver. Quite the botanical curveball.
I love that particular challenge on paper: take something organic, flexible, and distinctly pokey, then make its metallic finish work for a character build. The winter-hunter theme gives that oddball element a very different context from its usual leafy surroundings. Forget landscaping; this vine has an audition outside the garden department.
It’s also a fitting assignment for builder Eann McCurdy, whose profile names characters and pushing beyond his comfort zone among his passions. A first-round build has to get the creative gears turning, and this combination of subject and seed part certainly gets mine going. Your move, Ben.
