Planet Robotica’s Club Bugg looks like the bouncer, DJ, and entire guest list for the weirdest little insect nightclub in the galaxy. This upright robo-bug has serious character: long antennae, clawed side limbs, segmented armor, and a pair of glowing orange eyes that say, “yes, the cover charge is paid in Technic pins.”

What makes it sing is the mix of mechanical and organic shapes. The black and bluish gray bodywork gives the figure a tidy exoskeleton, while all those clips, small joints, claws, curved slopes, and droid-arm bits keep the silhouette wonderfully twitchy. It is not just a robot with bug parts stuck on; it feels built from bug logic, with every little appendage adding to the rhythm.
And then there is that neon green chain. Perfect. Ridiculous. Necessary. It turns the whole thing from “cool insect mech” into “tiny cyberpunk club legend,” which is exactly the kind of personality detail that makes a character build linger in your brain.
Builder Ian, the architectural designer and music freak behind Planet Robotica, only returned to LEGO character building in January 2024 after a 33-year pause. Apparently the pause button was storing up some serious weird little robot energy.
