Grantmasters revisits ED209 with an updated micro take on RoboCop’s most famously overconfident enforcement machine, and that is exactly the kind of tiny pop-culture engineering I can get behind. ED-209 is all awkward bulk, chicken-legged intimidation, and corporate disaster waiting to happen, which makes it a surprisingly perfect subject for microscale LEGO. If the stance reads right, the whole joke lands.

What I like here is the builder’s note about using parts released in the last few years. That is one of the quiet joys of revisiting an older design: the model you could almost build before suddenly becomes sharper because one new element solves a shape you used to fight. Grantmasters is already known for clever micro work and oddball parts usage, so an updated ED-209 and RoboCop pairing feels very on-brand. It is nostalgic, compact, and probably still terrible at stairs.
